Community Access for New Immigrants and African Refugees is a non-profit organization established to initiate awareness programs that result measurable outcomes for new immigrants and African refugee family and their youth.
Through capacity building initiative, CANIAR works to promote pro-social development and eliminate cross cultural deficiencies by providing adequate access to our community’s resources. Our aim is to initiate awareness programs that will assist new immigrants and African refugee as well as low income families with promoting self sufficiency to becoming self reliant. We will partner with local government agencies, school authorities and other immigrant organizations to establish cultural links that will educate all new immigrants and African refugees and their youth to learn and be familiar with the American cultures; what they need to know to avoid legal issues and how to assist them make a better decision regarding high schools, technical and colleges or universities they want to enter to improve their lives to become trust worthy citizens.
Founded in 2005, CANIAR exists to assist new immigrants and African refugees teens excel in school, engaging their communities and develop leadership skills. CANIAR opens opportunities to assist them live freely and build healthy relationships; guide them to learn and comprehend what high quality education means, and a path to be socially competent.
Our mission : To orientate, educate, and empower new immigrants and African refugees develop a sense of vibrancy and acknowledge passions that life offers.
Goals: To create public awareness to issues affecting New Immigrants and African Refugees(NIAR and promote pro-social change in their lives. New immigrants and African refugee families will be able to recognize the impact of domestic violence, teen pregnancies and crimes including bullying tendencies in schools. Will benefit from after school programs and perceive a sense of academic excellence.
